ABOUT SOPHIE

Sophie Musgrove is a New Zealand based documentary Director and Producer with over 18 years experience across international documentaries series, presenter lead factual/reality series, and natural history.

With a focus on indigenous stories, combined with her extensive travel to some of the most remote parts of the world, Sophie has gained a reputation for her ability to open doors into the lives of sensitive and challenging communities; from digging up corpses in South Sulawesi Indonesia, to entering exclusion zones in the radiated village of Fukushima Japan.

With these experiences Sophie has also built an extensive and intimate network of contacts across 6 continents, and made her sought after for some of the ambitious international factual documentary series to come out of New Zealand, for the likes of PBS, BBC, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Discovery.

In the last 3 months alone Sophie led a crew 5500m into a melting glacial ice cave in Nepal, captured the largest monarch butterfly migration on a volcano in Mexico, and dog sled across ice sheets in Eastern Greenland documenting a local Inuit hunter.
